Music, dance recitals and felicitation at Ganabharathi

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Krishna Jayanti celebrations, Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised music, dance and felicitation to artistes and art promoters at its premises in Kuvempunagar from Sept. 14 to 16.

On Sept. 14 (6 pm) at Veene Seshanna Bhavana: Flute Concert by Vid. Rajkamal. He will be accompanied by Vid. Sumanth Manjunath on violin, Vid. Arjun Kumar on mridanga, Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

Profile: Flautist Vid. Rajkamal is a disciple of Gurus Vid. S.N. Sridhar, Sangeeta Kalacharya Vidu. Neela Ramgopal and Padma Shri Dr. N. Ramani. He has performed at various prestigious platforms in India and abroad for over 3 decades. He has the honour of participating in the renowned symphony of Poland. Vid. Rajkamal has been recognised as ‘Yuva Pratibe’ by Lions Club and Krishna Ganasabha, Chennai, has honoured him with the title ‘Sharaba Shastry.’

On Sept. 15 (6 pm) at Veene Seshanna Bhavana: Bharatanatyam recital by Vid. Pavitra Bhat.

Profile: Pavithra Bhat started his career under the guidance of Vasanta of Kalanjali. He is a prominent disciple of Guru Deepa Majumdar. He is well-known for his unique and meticulous performance. He is the recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Award and A.T. Govindarajan Pillai Award and many more.

On Sept. 16 (5 pm) at Ganabharathi’s Ramagovinda Kalavedike:  Felicitation, prize distribution and cultural programme. MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah will be the chief guest.

Honouring of artistes and art promoters — Vid. Y.M. Puttanniah – Well-known harmonium artiste and Kannada Rajyotsava awardee; Vid. M.S. Jayaram – Senior Mridangist; Natyacharya Ullal Mohankumar – An eminent Bharatanatyam artiste and Kannada Rajyotsava awardee; Muliya Raghavaiah – Art promoter and writer; M.S. Narayana Murthy – Art promoter.

Prize distribution to the winners of Sri Krishna Jayanti competition held at Ganabharathi on Sept. 3. On the occasion, Vid. Y.M. Puttanniah and team will present Ranga Geethegalu (Theatre Songs).
