Musicologist Dr. R. Satyanarayana and violinist Dr. Mysore Manjunath feted

 Renowned Musicologist Padma Shri Dr. R. Satyanarayana and Kendriya Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award winner and violinist Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath being felicitated by Swami Athmajnanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, at Mysore Vasudevacharya Bhavan in city on Tuesday as Industrialist and Art Patron K.V. Murthy, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre, Dr. C.G. Narasimhan of Ganabharathi, Madhuri Thathachari of Bhramara Trust and others look on.

Mysuru:  The Federation of Music and Dance Institutions of Mysuru had organised a function at Mysore Vasudevacharya Bhavan on JLB Road here on Tuesday to felicitate renowned Musicologist Padma Shri Dr. R. Satyanarayana and Kendriya Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award winner and violinist Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath.

Felicitating the awardees, Swami Athmajnanandaji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, opined that Satyanarayana had proved that a person blessed by Goddess Saraswathi can achieve great heights.

Recalling the words of Swami Vivekananda, the Swamiji said that education should bring out the divinity in a person to achieve goals in life.

Referring to Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath, the Swamiji recalled the performance given by Manjunath and his brother (Mysore Nagaraj) in Kolkata where the audience were mesmerised by the talent of the duo who have won the hearts of millions in India and abroad.

Industrialist and Art Patron K.V. Murthy presided.

Madhuri Thathachari of Bhramara Trust, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre and others were present.

Earlier to that, Smitha Srikiran presented a flute recital accompanied by Sumanth on violin, A. Radhesh on mridanga and S. Manjunath on ghata.
