Muslim brethren to celebrate Ramzan tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysore District Hilal (Moon) Committee, which had convened a Moon Committee meeting yesterday evening has decided to celebrate Ramzan tomorrow. The meeting was presided by Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff.

The Committee tried to contact various places in the district and State to know about the sighting on the Moon and as the Moon was not sighted anywhere, the Committee decided to celebrate Ramzan tomorrow.

Hazrath Moulana Mufti Tajuddin, Hazrath Moulana Abdus Salam Razvi, Hazrath Moulana Shah Waliulla, Hazrath Moulana Zakaulla, Deputy Mayor Anwar Baig, former Corporator Suhail Baig, Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi and others were present in the meeting.

Dy. Mayor appeals Muslim brethren to pray at home

Deputy Mayor Anwar Baig, greeting Muslim brethren on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, has appealed all of them to pray at home as mosques would remain closed and limit the celebration within the family as COVID lockdown is in force.

Asking Muslim brethren to follow the guidelines issued by the Government, he said that the second wave of COVID was very dangerous and urged them to pray for peace and well-being of every one. He also urged them to co-operate with the District Administration, Police, Medical staff and others who are fighting to keep the pandemic at bay.
