Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust will be observing Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar’s Day tomorrow (Dec. 1) at Sri Prasanna Parvathi Kalyana Mantapa, V.V. Mohalla, Mysuru.

Muthuswami Dikshitar (1775-1835), one among the Music Trinity is credited with contributing a number of compositions which are treated as gems of Karnataka classical music repository. His masterly creations are very popular and widely sung in concerts.  

The programme will commence at 9.30 am with senior musicians of the city and their disciples offering tributes to Dikshitar by rendering  his compositions.

A vocal concert will be presented by senior vocalist Vid. N.R. Prashanth at 11 am.

Vid. S. Janardhan, Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy and Vid. Raghunandan Rao will provide instrumental support on violin, mridanga and ghata respectively.
