MyLAC Chairman rues conferment of awards on caste and religious lines

Manasagangothri’s Centre for Gandhian Studies Director Dr. Shivarajappa, who was conferred with ‘RSN Sreshta Seva Award,’ is seen with MyLAC Chairman H.A. Venkatesh and others.

Mysuru: Regretting that awards are being given away on caste and religious lines, Mysuru Lac & Paints (MyLAC) Chairman H.A. Venkatesh has said that such an attitude must change in the better interests of the society.

He was speaking at the ‘RSN Sreshta Seva Award’ presentation programme organised by R.S. Naidu Arts and Cultural Trust as part of freedom fighter and sculptor R.S. Naidu’s 112th birth anniversary at Sri Yogi Nareyana Banajiga Sangha building in Saraswathipuram here yesterday.

Recalling the contribution of R.S. Naidu to the society, Venkatesh said that Naidu was an inspiration to the younger generation. He also observed that our society should develop a mindset to honour all achievers, irrespective of their background.

Manasagangothri’s Centre for Gandhian Studies Director Dr. Shivarajappa was conferred ‘RSN Sreshta Seva Award’ on  the occasion.

Former Kuvempu University Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Venkataramaiah, R.S. Naidu Trust President P.Y. Venkatadri, Yogi Narayana Banajiga Sangha President H.R. Gopalakrishna and others were present.
