Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its monthly programme ‘Sadhakarondige Samvaada,’ the Mysore Art Gallery felicitated M.A. Neelambika, lecturer at JSS Educational Institutions, at a programme held at its premises on Ramanuja Road in city on Saturday last.
Neelambika, daughter of Nataka Kalaratna C. Ankappa, is serving as a Kannada lecturer at JSS for the past three decades, teaching Kannada and Vachana Sahitya to her students.
Neelambika has authored as many as 40 books (poem, play, story book, vachana, articles etc.). She is also supporting the education of the children coming from poor economic backgrounds by adopting them.
Neelambika has also involved herself in social works and has received honours and awards from several Social and Religious Institutions.
Yuvaraja’s College Assistant Professor Dr. M.P. Rekha was the chief guest of the programme while Gallery Founder-President L. Shivalingappa presided. Akkamahadevi Pratishtana Founder Divya Chethana, Secretary Vanajakshi and Sri Mahadeshwara Kalathanda Founder Prema Kumari were the special invitees.
