Mysore Palace Board to provide space for Fire Station in Palace premises

Mysuru: An exclusive Fire Station is coming up in the Mysore Palace premises and the Mysore Palace Board has agreed to provide space for it which would be established on the lines of Fire Stations at Vidhana Soudha, Raj Bhavan, M.S. Building and the Karnataka High Court in Bengaluru.

In a communication to the DGP and DG. Karnataka state fire and Emergency Services Department, Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep, who is also the Executive Officer of the Mysore Palace Board, has stated that the Board has agreed to provide space for the office and stationing of the Fire Brigade vehicle in the Palace premises.

As per the communication, three rooms on the first floor of a building in Bidadi Block will be provided for the Fire and Emergency Services office and a place near Karikall Thotti Gate will be provided for stationing of the vehicle.

It may recalled that a few months ago, a ticket counter was destroyed in a fire mishap at the Palace gate, which prompted the officials to think of having a Fire Station in the Palace premises to tackle during emergency fire mishaps in future.
