Mysore Varsity to hold English coaching classes for guest faculties

Mysuru – To enhance the quality of English teaching among guest faculties of University of Mysore, the University is starting English coaching classes from next month.

The University has received complaints from students, especially from foreign students that some of the faculties teach in Kannada and it has become a problem for them to understand the language.

Speaking to presspersons recently, Prof. Dayanand Mane, Acting Vice-Chancellor, said, “On experimental basis, we have decided to conduct free English coaching classes for our guest faculties which will start from May. After finishing their classes, the guest faculties will attend coaching classes from 4 pm to 6 pm.”

The first batch of guest faculties will undergo minimum  one-week English teaching from the experts from May 1 and will   go on till August.

New Vice-Chancellor

The University will have to wait for a couple of weeks to get a permanent Vice-Chancellor and if everything goes as per plans, then the Search Committee which was constituted in January will have its first meeting on Apr. 28 or 29, according to Varsity sources.
