Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep, who was in Delhi yesterday, has submitted the original documents pertaining to the 23 acre of University of Mysore land at the foot of Chamundi Hill here to the Supreme Court.

The DC was accompanied by Mysore University Registrar D. Bharathi, Tahsildar T. Ramesh Babu and case worker at the Tahsildar’s office Bopanna.

A Bench of Justices N.V. Ramana and S. Abdul Nazeer allowed a plea moved by Additional Advocate General Devdutt Kamat on behalf of Dr. E.V. Ramareddy, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, seeking exemption from his personal appearance.

In his application, Reddy stated, “In view of the ongoing Budget Session of the State Legislature, the Principal Secretary is unable to present himself before the Court. However, other officers — D. Randeep, DC, Mysuru and Tahsildar T. Ramesh Babu — were directed to be present in the Court along with the original records.”

While Additional Advocate General Devdutt Kamat appeared for the Government, Advocates Chandrashekar and Gurukrishna appeared for the University. The Court, after the officials submitted the original documents, went ahead and has reserved the judgement.
