Mysore Varsity’s PE Department felicitates sports persons

The Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM), felicitated the UoM sports persons who performed well and won medals in All India Inter-University level and South Zone Inter-University level at a function held at the University Sports Pavilion here last evening.

The UoM’s cricket team which finished runner-up in the Rohinton Baria All India Inter-University Cricket Tournament, women’s handball team (bronze medal), men and women yoga teams (silver), athlete M.R. Dhanusha (gold in Heptathlon), Jahnavi V. Madhu (silver in team event and individual silver in women’s section of Yoga contest) and Rakesh (bronze medal winner in Greco-Roman All India Inter-University Men’s Wrestling Championship) were felicitated with cash prizes and mementos.

The coaches and Managers of the respective teams were also honoured. The prize winners in the University Inter-Collegiate Sports Competitions (2018-19) were also given away cash prizes by the organisers on this occasion.
