Indian batter Shubha Satheesh of Mysuru named skipper
Mysuru: City-based NR Group, owners of Mysore Warriors, today unveiled the Mysore Warriors Women’s Team for the Season-2 of the Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 2026 to be held from July 22 to Aug. 2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The 18-member squad was formally introduced to the media representatives with Shubha Satheesh announced as the captain for the 2026 season.
Guided by Head Coach Karuna Jain and an experienced support staff, the team combines experienced campaigners with exciting young talent and enters the tournament with renewed confidence after valuable learnings from the inaugural edition.
Adding an inspirational touch to the event, T.C. Deepika, World Cup-winning Captain of the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team and an alumna of the Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RMSD), joined the Mysore Warriors at the team launch to extend her best wishes for the upcoming season.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepika said, “I wish the Mysore Warriors Women’s Team a very successful Maharani Trophy and hope they bring the title home this season. Encouragement and support from franchises like Mysore Warriors are invaluable for the growth of women’s cricket and motivate many young girls to dream big. I am deeply grateful to the Ranga family for giving me the opportunity to pursue cricket through the Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled.”
Reinforcing its philosophy of giving back through cricket, Cycle Pure Agarbathi also presented cheques worth Rs. 3 lakh towards its social initiatives. As committed during the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026, a cheque of Rs. 1.5 lakh each was presented to Usha Kiran Eye Hospital and Ability Sports League (ASL) Cricket.
Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysore Warriors & MD, Cycle Pure Agarbathi, said, “The inaugural Maharani Trophy was a landmark moment for women’s cricket in Karnataka and we are delighted to continue our journey into the second season. At Mysore Warriors, our objective is not just to compete but to create opportunities for talented women cricketers to excel on a professional platform.”
Shubha Satheesh, Captain, Mysore Warriors, said, “It is a privilege to once again lead the Mysore Warriors in the second season of the Maharani Trophy. Last season, we came very close to lifting the trophy and while we fell just short, that experience has only strengthened our resolve. This year, we are fully geared up and determined to go one step further. The team has trained hard, every player is committed to giving her best and we are ready to play fearless, positive cricket.”
Mysore Warriors’ opening match of Season-2 will be the repeat of Season-1 finals where the last year’s runners-up will take on the defending champions Hubli Tigers on July 22 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru at 7 pm.
