Second edition of Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 from July 22

Mysuru: The second edition of Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 will be held from July 22 to Aug. 2 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Benglauru. The player auction was held at the stadium yesterday.

The auction was conducted across four player categories based on experience, ranging from capped WPL and international players in Pool A (Rs. 1 lakh base price) to Karnataka senior players in Pool B (Rs. 75,000), U-23 and junior State players in Pool C (Rs. 50,000) and Karnataka probables and league performers in Pool D (Rs. 30,000).

Each franchise operated with an overall auction purse of Rs. 20 lakh while assembling their squads.

Mysuru Warriors reinforced their squad by signing India batter Shubha Satheesh for Rs. 4.20 lakh and Shishira A. Gowda for Rs. 4.10 lakh. The franchise also secured all-rounder Sahana S. Pawar for Rs. 2.80 lakh, alongside the additions of Pooja Kumari for Rs. 1.10 lakh and Pushpa Kiresur for Rs. 1 lakh.

Mystics and Mysore Warriors bringing together some of the finest women’s cricketing talent from across the State.

The tournament will be played in a double round-robin league format, with each of the four teams playing one another twice before the top teams progress to the knockout stage, culminating in the grand final.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru Blasters emerged as the biggest spenders at the player auction, securing Prathyusha Challuru for a tournament-high Rs. 4.5 lakh. Mysuru Warriors and Hubli Tigers followed with the acquisition of Shubha Satheesh and Vrinda Dinesh respectively for Rs. 4.2 lakh, as franchises assembled balanced squads ahead of the upcoming season.

Bengaluru Blasters secured India all-rounder Prathyusha Challuru, who made her international debut against South Africa in 2021, while Mysuru Warriors signed Indian batter Shubha Satheesh, who earned her Test debut against England in 2023. Hubli Tigers, meanwhile, acquired highly-rated Karnataka batter Vrinda Dinesh, one of the state’s brightest young prospects who has excelled in domestic cricket and represented UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League.
