Mysore/Mysuru: A mysterious bag found abandoned in front of a financial service company on Narayana Shastry (N.S.) Road near Sunnadakeri created panic among the public for some time on Monday evening.
At about 6 pm on Monday, a bag was found abandoned in front of HDB Financial Services on N.S. Road in Sunnadakeri, which created panic among the public about a bomb being planted on the eve of Republic Day.
A few residents of the locality, who too noticed the bag, immediately alerted K.R. Police, who rushed to the spot, cordoned off the place and informed the Dog Squad unit and the Bomb Squad.
The Bomb Squad personnel on opening the bag found a belt inside and nothing else, bringing a sigh of relief among the public.
DCP Dr. A.N. Prakash Gowda, speaking to SOM, said that on receiving information about the abandoned bag, Police were instructed to cordon off the spot and not to allow anyone near the bag. Apart from a belt, there was nothing else inside the bag, he added.
