June 15, 2017

Mysuru: The dead body of Shabbir, a 27-year-old youth from Vidyaranyapuram in city will be brought to Mysuru from Dubai this evening. Shabbir, who was working as a cab driver, died 85 days back and the efforts of his family to bring his body, has finally paid off.

Shabbir, who had left for Dubai in search of a job in July 2016 along with agent Khaleel of Arasikere in Hassan, who happens to be his relative, was working in Dammam in Saudi Arabia.

The body of Shabeer was found hanging in a room on March 25 and the photo of Shabeer hanging from the ceiling fan sent to the family members of Shabeer had raised doubts that Shabeer had committed suicide as both the legs of Shabeer was firmly resting on the floor.

Meanwhile, his parents Wazeer  Sab and Dilshad had accused Khaleel of killing their son as he used to pester Shabeer to pay Rs. 1.5 lakh commission for getting him a job.

Wazeer  Sab and Dilshad later pleaded before MLA M.K. Somashekar, MPs Pratap Simha and R. Dhruvanarayan and Mysuru Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep to get their son’s body to Mysuru. Based on the appeals by the elected representatives and officials from the district and Indian and Saudi Arabia Embassies, arrangements have now been made to send the body of Shabbir to India. Following requests from Shabbir’s parents, his employer industrialist Aseem has agreed to foot the transportation charges to fly the body to India.

Shabbir’s body will arrive from Saudi Arabia and will land in Bengaluru today and later will be brought to Mysuru. Cremation will take place this evening at the burial grounds near Mysuru Jail.
