Mysterious death of KREDL Officer: Rotarians urge City Top Cop to speed up investigation

December 22, 2022

Mysuru: Rotary West Mysore Past President Dr. Raghavendra Prasad has urged City Police Commissioner to speed up the investigation of the mysterious death of Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) Officer D.K. Dinesh Kumar and inform the cause of his death to the society.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Dr. Raghavendra said that it has been over 20 days since the mysterious death of Dinesh Kumar came to light. “On Nov. 26 Saturday, Dinesh Kumar visited Rotary organisations and other places and reached his home at about 9.30 pm. It was the last time we saw him. On Nov. 28, we got information about Dinesh’s death through Police, which was a shock to us. The hospital management announced that he had died midway and informed the Police. When we went to the hospital and saw his body, it was in a bad state. The doctors, who examined the body, suspected that Dinesh may have died 36 hours ago and foul smell was emanating from the body,” Dr. Raghavendra said.

He further said that Dinesh’s wife has stated that they had dinner on Saturday and slept. The next morning they saw Dinesh in an unconscious state and seeing that, they too fell unconscious. “We have doubts on no one, we just want to know whether our friend Dinesh’s death was natural or unnatural,” he said.

Past Secretary of Rotary North Yashwanth Kumar, who too spoke, said that they would wait for three more days and if there are no developments in the investigation, they would meet the Home Minister and urge him for speedy investigation.
