Mysuru: Mysuru-born Drithi Bopanna Puliyanda has exhibited her fine artwork “The Arrival” at the Royal Miniature Society’s Annual Exhibition in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, more commonly known as the Royal Miniature Society (RMS), with King Charles III as Patron, was founded in 1896.
The Society invites artwork submissions from across the world and selects only the best ones for exhibition.
Drithi’s artwork was one among the selected for the exhibition being held from Oct. 24 to Nov. 2 at the Alliston Centre, Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, Cotswolds, England, with the theme ‘The Legend of King Arthur’.
Her work is created using fine art sketching techniques, drawing inspiration from the enchanting visual language of Victorian storybook illustrations honouring the medieval theme.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Drithi said, “Being in the presence of such distinguished members of the Royal Miniature Society and being part of its 130-year-old legacy is an honour in itself. As a young artist, I felt especially encouraged to carry forward the tradition of miniature art upheld by the RMS members and its President.”
“It is a pleasure to create artworks for people across the world and be part of something they cherish. I also create works inspired by my Kodava culture as a form of cultural storytelling. One such work was recently published and archived in the Royal Library of Belgium in Issue 3 of L’Exposition’s Contemporary Art History magazine,” she added.
Married to Meryn Coffer of the UK, Drithi is the Founder of Gaia Artworks in London. She also pursues her work as an Executive Coach. Drithi is the daughter of Dr. Sujatha Bopanna, Dean of Sapient College, Mysuru and late P.C. Bopanna.
An alumna of St. Joseph’s Central School and Sapient College of Commerce & Management, Mysuru, she completed her Master’s in Global Business Management, specialising in Global Organisational Behaviour, from Rennes School of Business, France.
