Mysuru: BJP State Spokesperson Ashwath Narayan said the Congress Government has finally bowed to the ‘Mysuru Chalo’ agitation launched by the Opposition BJP and its ally JD(S) in August 2024 against the MUDA sites scam.
He alleged that thousands of sites were looted in the MUDA scam, with former CM Siddaramaiah’s family among the chief beneficiaries. Under pressure, Siddaramaiah’s family was forced to return 14 sites to MUDA.
Ashwath Narayan said the accused officials and the former CM’s family continue to face trial in Court, while Congress Government, instead of reclaiming thousands of allegedly looted sites, was embarrassed defending the culprits. “This is a victory for Opposition’s struggle,” he said.
He warned that the BJP would not relent unless strict action was taken against those responsible. He accused the Govt. of shielding former MUDA Commissioner Dr. Natesh, who allegedly made illegal allotments, to protect Siddaramaiah from further legal trouble. He said that since Siddaramaiah’s name is directly linked to the scam, his son, UD Minister Dr. Yathindra, had no moral right to continue in the Cabinet or as Leader of the Legislative Council.
