Mysuru: The recent stone-pelting incident in front of Udayagiri Police Station is a direct challenge to the country’s internal security, said Mahesh Kadagadal, Convener of the Rashtra Suraksha Janaandolana Samithi. In response, a ‘Mysuru Chalo Janajagruti’ rally has been scheduled for Feb. 24 at 11 am at the premises of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple near the Mysore Palace.
Addressing a press conference at the Mysuru District Journalists’ Association, Kadagadal described the Udayagiri stone-pelting incident as a serious threat to law and order. He stated that the Janajagruti rally aims to raise awareness against anti-national elements posing a risk to the country’s security, integrity, and unity. Thousands of activists from across the State are expected to participate, marching from Gun House Circle to the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, where the meeting will take place.
The movement will demand that the accused in the Udayagiri clash be booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention (UAPA) Act and that the investigation be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), he added.
Co-conveners of Rashtra Suraksha Janaandolana Samithi, Prajwal, Basavaraju and Chethan, were also present at the press conference.
