Mysuru: Mysuru’s upcoming athlete N.K. Harshitha has won silver medal in the female 18-24 years category at the Mumbai Marathon held yesterday. Harshitha, taking part in the full-marathon (42.195 km), finished the race with a timing of 3:51:51 sec.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, she said, “I am very happy to have finished the marathon second just a year after running first 10K run during January 2025.”

Last year, Harshitha had emerged third in the women’s category at the Mysuru Marathon held during October 2025, 2nd in half marathon at Mysuru Run held in January 2025 and second at 10K Run at Vidhiathon Bengaluru, 2025. Till date, Harshitha has taken part in ten 10K Runs, five half marathons, one 25K Run at Kolkata and two full marathons.

Harshitha, a B.Com graduate and a native of Nanjangud, is the daughter of N.V. Krishna Jois, a retired Police Constable and Sowmya Lakshmi. Her younger brother Haridrwarna Jois is a swimmer. Harshitha, who aims to join the Indian Armed Forces, has been preparing for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination.
