Mysuru: The Mysuru Hotel Owners’ Association undertook a symbolic pilgrimage titled ‘Dharmasthala Chalo’ to express solidarity with Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
During the visit, a solemn pledge was made to Dr. Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, affirming the group’s commitment to safeguarding the sanctity and reputation of the revered institution.
On Saturday, over 100 participants, including owners of hotels, lodges, restaurants, sweets and bakery establishments from Mysuru, along with their families, travelled to Dharmasthala.
After having darshan of Sri Manjunatha, the delegation met Dr. Heggade and formally conveyed their collective resolve to support the temple in its efforts to protect and preserve it.
The Association strongly condemned recent attempts by certain individuals to tarnish Dharmasthala’s reputation, terming such actions as deeply shameful.
They emphasised that Dharmasthala is not only a spiritual beacon for Karnataka but also a national model for civic and cultural service. The institution’s contributions to devotional practice, social welfare, religious education, and cultural preservation were hailed as unparalleled and widely recognised.
Condemning baseless allegations against the institution, the Association asserted its unwavering support, stressing that Dharmasthala has consistently undertaken religious, educational, and welfare responsibilities that are, in many cases, expected of the Government itself. Such dedicated service, they said, deserves honour and recognition, not defamation.
Association President C. Narayanagowda issued a stern warning against those spreading malicious propaganda. The Association reaffirmed its commitment to defend and uphold the dignity of Dharmasthala, ensuring that the Temple’s spiritual and social mission continues to inspire generations to come.
