Mysuru lad excels in International Yoga Championship

A young yoga artist from city has won two gold medals at the International Yoga Championship held recently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organised by the Malaysian Government.

Kuvalashava, son of Central Armed Reserve (CAR) Police Head Constable Parashuram and Manjula, is a resident of Besthageri. Kuvalashava has also won gold in five different asanas and artistic yoga (pair) categories.

He is studying in second B.Sc at Yuvaraja College and is being groomed by yoga guru H.M. Ravanikar for the past four-and-a-half years.

Kuvalashava won six prizes at the International level yoga contest held in Thailand from May 21 to 29. He won the trophy in Ahtletic yoga, first prize in artistic yoga solo, second prize in own choice, second prize in group yogasana and second prize in artistic pair yogasana. He has also won prizes at national and state-level yoga competitions.
