Mysuru lad Radesh emerges fastest

Mysuru lad Radesh emerged as the fastest man of the meet by winning the coveted men’s 100 mts sprint the State Olympics Athletic Meet held at Dharwad yesterday.

Earlier on Thursday, Mysuru lad Vidyasagar taking part in the men’s 200 mts sprint won the gold medal with a timing of 21.3 seconds. Vidyasagar, winner of the Silver medal in the South Asian Games last year finished just ahead of Manish (Udupi) with a timing of 21.4sec, while Bengaluru’s Kiran settled for bronze with a timing of 22.0 sec.

In the women’s 5000 mts event, Mysuru’s Thippavva Sannakki won the gold with a timing of 18:39.8 sec. In the men’s 5,000m event, Mysuru lad G.J. Chetana won the bronze medal with a timing of 16:62.3 sec. Shahajahani of Mysuru won the gold in the women’s Javelin throw event with a throw of 44.59 mts.

In the women’s hockey event, DYES, Mysuru won the gold by beating Ballari 6-0. Rashi (2 goals), Sandhya, Kruthika, Neha and Bhavya scored a goal each.
