Mysuru Odissi Utsav on Saturday

Mysore/Mysuru: International Odissi Forum, Bhubaneswar, in association with Rudra Nritya Yogashala, Mysuru, sponsored by Puri Jagannath Cultural and Welfare Trust and Mysuru Odissi family, has organised Mysuru Odissi Utsav for the second time in Mysuru, tomorrow (Dec. 23) at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishananagar from 6 pm.

The chief guests of the event are Ghanashyam Pradhan (President of Puri Jagannatha Cultural and Welfare Trust, Mysuru), Bharathi Sridhara Raj Urs (Secretary of Sree Krishna Seva Samithi Trust, Mysuru) and Dr. B.P. Murthy, (Working President of Mysuru Yoga Okkuta).

Special guest and anchor Badari Divya Bhushan (Internationally famous Bharatanatyam dancer and Founder of Bhushan’s Academy of Performing Arts, Mysuru), many National and International acclaimed artistes are participating in the Festival.

Profile: Guru Sindhu Kiran is the founder of Rudra Nrityayogashala. An Odissi dancer from Gokulam, Mysuru, she is a Performer, Choreographer and Teacher. She has performed across India and abroad and has been teaching Odissi for over 25 years.

Sindhu embarked on her dance journey at the age of 4, starting with Bharatanatyam and Kerala folk dances. Her path then led her to the renowned Nrityagram – The Dance Village in Bengaluru.

At 16, she delved into formal Odissi training under the guidance of Guru Kelu Charan Mahapatra and Guru Prothima Gouri Bedi at Nrityagram.

Sindhu Kiran actively promotes Odissi through seminars, workshops and lecture demonstrations.
