Mysuru Open Tennis Tournament: Upset win for Suresh

Unseeded Tamil Nadu player Dakshineshwar Suresh, playing an attacking game on both the flanks, scored an upset win over third seeded Yash Yadav (Kar) 6-2, 7-6 91) and entered the quarter-finals in the Rs.1 lakh Mysuru Open Tennis Tournament, conducted by Orange Sportz jointly with Mysore Tennis Club (MTC) here yesterday.

In another upset win, Tamil Nadu’s unseeded Guhan Rajan shocked eighth seeded Arora Amarnath (Del) 6-4, 6-2 and progressed into the last eight stage in the Tourney.

Top-seed and local lad S.D. Prajwal Dev, second seed Jatin Dahiya (Del), fifth seed B.R. Nikshep and sixth seed Rishi Reddy (both from Karnataka), seventh seed V. Vignesh (TN) and unseeded local lad Arnav Pathange won their respective matches to enter the quarter-finals.
