Mysuru Police undergo training in basic life, trauma support

Mysuru: A workshop -cum-training programme on ‘Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Trauma Life Support’ was organised for the Police personnel by Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital at the Hospital premises in city recently.

The event was conducted  with In-House expertise of Cauvery Hospital and their Nursing and Support staff. The day-long  programme had Audio Visual presentations, Hands-on Training through Mannequins on Basic life support and airway maintenance along with mock drills and interactive sessions. Hands-on skill stations  and demonstrations were  also conducted on stabilisation of trauma patients and safe transportation of such patients.

The aim of the workshop was to equip Police personnel to render life saving support in case of trauma, accidents or other medical emergencies like drowning, poisoning and hanging among others as they are the first responders at the scene of such accidents and emergencies.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A.Subrahmanyeswara Rao, speaking as the chief guest, urged the Cops to get trained in this Basic Life & Trauma Support so that they be the key persons in saving life at the crucial golden hour. He also lauded the Hospital team under their Chairman Dr. G. R. Chandrashekar to have conceived, initiated and rendered this training programme.

Dr. R. Vaidyanathan, Director, Critical Care & Emergency Services, Cauvery Hospital, Dr. B.N.  Rajeeva, Medical Superintendent, Cauvery Hospital, B.J. Sandeep Patel, Facility Director and others were present.
