Mysuru talent shines in Maharashtra Kavya bags Silver in National Gymnastics Championship

This budding gymnastic and kabaddi talent from the city has bagged a Silver Medal in the 9th Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastic-2019 National Championship held recently in Maharashtra. J. Kavya, daughter of Jagadish and Nandini couple, residents of Kyathamaranahalli, is studying II PUC in Teresian College.

Along with studies, she has participated in kabaddi and gymnastics championships at State and National-level and bagged several Gold and Silver medals. Her mother Nandini, coaches Iliyas and Anthony Moses have been a great source of strength and support in her success.

Awards: Kavya has bagged Silver medal in the 9th Trampoline and Tumbling Gymnastic-2019 National Championship held at Maharashtra and brought laurels to the city and the State. In 2018, she bagged the first place at the Gymnastics competition organised by the National School Games Federation at Tripura and the State-level Championship held at Dharwad.

In 2017, she bagged Gold medals in Kabaddi National Championships held at Hosur in Tamil Nadu and in Haryana and in the same year she bagged fourth place in gymnastics at National Championship held in Kerala.

Kavya bagged Gold medals in sub-junior kabaddi Championship held at Patna in Bihar in January 2019 and in the zonal-level championships held at Chikkamagalur and Hassan. Besides, she also has won prizes in the marathon organised in Mysuru and in athletics held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium. So far, she has won more than 50 prizes and awards in various competitions.
