The State Government is in the process of establishing Institutes of Diabetology in Mysuru and Kalaburagi to strengthen specialised care for diabetes patients, said Minister for Medical Education Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil.

He was speaking after inaugurating a pan-India diabetes foot care awareness, counselling and screening campaign called ‘Prayaas’ at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences in Kalaburagi on Monday.

Highlighting the importance of the campaign, he said that mobile medical units equipped with necessary facilities will travel to district & taluk centres to screen patients and create awareness on foot care among diabetics.
