Three-day event to be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium

For the first time, Mysuru will play host to the 19th National Para Athletic Championship from Mar.26 to 28 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Nazarbad, Mysuru.

This was disclosed by Dr. Uday B. Garudachar, MLA and Chairman of the Organising Committee, at a press meet in city yesterday.

Around 1,600 athletes and officials are expected to take part in this mega event and 28 States have already confirmed their participation.

This event serves as the qualifying event for the Tokyo 2020 Para Olympics. Novignon has been appointed as the Technical Delegate for the competition.

The inauguration of the Championship will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Mysuru, on Mar.26 at 5 pm. Nearly 175 events shall take place in both men and women sections.

Star Para athletes like T. Mariyappan, Amit Saroha, Nishad, Varun Singh Bhati, Sandeep, Sumit, Sundar Singh Gurjar, Devendra, Narayan Thakur, G. Anandan, Rakshitha, Ekta Bhyan, V. Radha, S. Ramya and Karamjyoti will be seen in action.
