Mysuru turning into a village !

Sir,

Roads in East Mysuru at areas including Kalyanagiri Nagar, Sathagalli Layout, Raghavendra Nagar and Azeez Sait Nagar have become an eyesore and a mess for road users. Though the roads were dug up almost a year ago to lay UGD pipes and new water connection lines, they have not yet been re-laid. One must be lucky to find some portions of road among potholes.

I understand that it is necessary to provide new UGD and water connection pipelines. But isn’t it the duty of Mysuru City Corporation and Corporators to restore the roads to its original condition after providing basic amenities? They always forget to re-asphalt the roads that they dig up. Also, the quality of asphalting works (wherever it is done) is usually pathetic, resulting in formation of potholes  within days or weeks of the roads being re-laid.

Apart from that, you can see overflowing manholes everywhere (one near the Water Tank Bus Stop on Dr. Rajkumar Road), making matters worse. No wonder you feel like being in a village when you visit these parts of the city.

I hope the authorities concerned will look into it as a matter of priority and fix the roads as soon as possible, providing safer and better roads.
