Minister Dr. Yathindra to launch pilot project in Nanjangud tomorrow
Nanjangud: National Ayush Mission (NAM), which has identified Nanjangud taluk in the district to be developed as a Mysuru Yoga Hub, under a pilot project, will be kickstarting the programme on July 19 (Sunday).
Addressing media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan here on Thursday, Taluk Ayush Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar said, Minister for Urban Development Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, also District In-charge Minister, will inaugurate the programme at Srikanteshwaraswamy temple premises between 6 am and 8 am.
Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan will preside. Chamarajanagar MP Sunil Bose will be the chief guest.
The programme to be implemented by State Ayush Department, with the intention of building a healthy society, aims to impart training in Yogasana for 90 days at 45 Gram Panchayats in the taluk. Ninety Yoga teachers, two each for every 45 GPs, will be deputed and 10 staff members of Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College and Hospital will be deputed to supervise the implementation of the programme in a planned manner, at an estimated cost of Rs. 65.64 lakh.
N.R. Ganesh Murthy, Secretary of Sri Pathanjali Yoga Shikshana Samiti, said, in the changed era, people are suffering from various ailments due to lifestyle and food habits. Yogasana will be helpful in keeping both physical and mental health, by changing the lifestyle.
