Mysuru ZP receives 12 calls during Phone-in programme

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Zilla Panchayat (ZP) received a total of 12 calls during the hour-long Phone-in programme organised to hear public grievances, at the ZP hall here yesterday.

ZP Deputy Secretary Dr. S. Premkumar, Development Section Deputy Secretary Dr. Krishnaraj, Chief Planning Officer Dhanush and other officials took part in the programme.

Santosh, a resident of Hinkal, complained about encroachment of 8 acres of land at Diwanakere near Kakanakatte coming under Hinkal limits. Alleging that some people are dumping wastes into the lake, he urged the authorities to survey the boundary and fence the lake. Dr. Premkumar assured of sending a team to the spot for verification, following which action will be taken.

Suresh, a resident of Siddapura in K.R. Nagar taluk, alleged irregularities in the sanctioning of farm ponds in GP limits. Accusing a person of getting sanction for farm ponds year after year, he wanted to know how only one person was getting permission, while others, who have been applying for years had failed. In response, the authorities promised to verify the allegations.

Kumaraswamy, a resident of Hanchya, said that many people were rendered jobless due to COVID induced lockdown. He wanted the authorities to issue job cards to unemployed youths from rural areas.

After hearing all the complaints and grievances from members of the public across the district, the ZP authorities  directed the complaints to the concerned officials for redressal.
