Mysuru: The Singapore Kannada Sangha has organised “Vachananjali,” a special cultural event on July 18. The organisers have invited G.L. Tripurantaka of Mysuru will deliver a lecture on the topic “Vachana Sahityadalli Kayaka Tatva.”
Professionally, Tripurantaka serves as an Assistant Administrative Officer at the JSS Institutions, Suttur.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, he is well-known as a writer, public speaker and photographer, contributing to the promotion of Karnataka’s culture, literature and heritage.
Established in 1996, the Singapore Kannada Sangha has been bringing together thousands of Kannadigas living in Singapore. Throughout the year, the organisation conducts a variety of programmes dedicated to Kannada art, literature and music.
It also successfully hosted the World Kannada Conference in 2010. Every year, the Sangha celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava and Deepavali. In addition, it conducts Kannada language classes for younger generation and publishes a periodical titled “Singara.”
The “Vachananjali” programme on July 18 will also feature a Vachana-based dance performance, Vachana singing and a stage play titled “Kayakave Kailasa”, making it a comprehensive celebration of Vachana tradition.
