Senior Congress leader and former Nanjangud CMC Vice-President N. Indra (60), passed away at a private hospital in Mysuru yesterday morning following brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

A senior politician of Nanjangud, he had friends in all political parties.

He had worked closely with MP R. Dhruvanarayan, former Minister V. Srinivasa Prasad and late former Ministers D.T. Jayakumar and M. Mahadev.

His last rites were performed on the banks of Kapila river on yesterday evening, according to family sources.
