City’s R. Nagaraj, an Administrative Officer in Income-Tax Department, Mysuru, won 55 Plus Men’s Singles and Doubles titles in the N. Krishnan Memorial All India Senior Tennis Tournament-2018 conducted by Trivandrum Tennis Club here from Feb.19 to 23.
In the Singles event, Nagaraj beat A. Sanjai Kumar 6-2, 6-3 in the final to clinch the title. In the semi-finals, Nagaraj scored a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win over Suresh Murthati and in the quarter-finals, he beat A. Ajai Kumar 5-0 (Concd.).
In the Doubles event, Nagaraj, teaming up with A. Sanjai Kumar, beat Suresh Murthati and S. Kalyanaraman 6-2, 6-3 in the finals. In the semi-finals, Nagaraj and Sanjai got the better of Austin Mendis and Balasubramanian 6-1, 6-3.
