N.R. COVID Care Centre upgraded

Former Corporator urges COVID patients to avail treatment at the upgraded facility

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Corporator and Secretary of Mysore Beedi Mazdoor Association K.C. Shoukath Pasha has urged the people with COVID-19 symptoms in Narasimharaja (NR) Constituency to avail treatment at the upgraded NR COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Central Hospital for Beedi Workers in Kalyangiri.

Pointing out that the Central Hospital for Beedi Workers has been converted as the N.R. CCC with the efforts of MLA Tanveer Sait, District Administration, MCC and others, he said that the CCC has been upgraded within a month of its establishment with the following facilities;

Shoukath Pasha said that the  COVID Care Centre/COVID Hospital is a 215 bed centre, out of which 24 beds are reserved for Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ventilator and step-down ICU, the work of which is in progress and will be completed at the earliest.

100 beds are meant for oxygenated beds out of which 70 are occupied and works on 30 beds is in progress which will be completed within a week. The rest of the beds would be used for isolation wards, he added. 

Continuing, the former Corporator said that arrangements have been made with an agency for CT scan and blood testing to be done free of cost to the in-patients and added that free food is also being supplied to the in-patients and the staff by a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).

Claiming that a KSRTC bus with seven point oxygen facility is also stationed at the N.R. CCC for emergency, Shoukath said that the CCC has 10 MBBS doctors, 3 Ayush doctors 10 nursing staff, 12 trainee nurses and volunteers along with Dr. Munavar, Dr. Nayaz and Dr. Sheraz, who are monitoring the CCC.

The COVID Care Centre is operating with triage system where hundreds of patients are coming as out patients and availing consultation from 8 am to 8 pm and Q Care, an NGO is supporting the doctors and nurses by taking care of a 20 bed unit at the CCC, said the former Corporator.

Also, RT-PCR and RAT Tests were being conducted daily between 10 am and 1.30 pm, Shoukath said and added that  the N.R. COVID Care Centre is also working as COVID Vaccination Centre.

Pointing out that the N.R. COVID Care Centre is opened for the benefit of the public, Shoukath Pasha has urged the residents to get themselves tested at the earliest, if they have COVID symptoms and                                                      avail free treatment.
