Mysuru: NAAC Peer Committee visited JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, Mysuru, recently.
The Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Siba Prasad Adhikary, Ex-Vice-Chancellor, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, accompanied by Member Coordinator Dr. Shrawan K. Sharma, Department of English, Haridwar, Uttarkhand and Member Dr. Kumarasamy Ramamurthi, Principal, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was warmly welcomed by Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah, Chief Executive of the College, Prof. M. Mahadevappa, Principal, Prof. D.S. Sadashivarmurthy.
The team members assessed 1) Curricular Aspects 2) Teaching- Learning & Evaluation 3) Research, Innovation & Extension 4) Infrastructure & Learning Resources 5) Student support & Progression 6) Governance, Leadership and Management 7) Institutional Values & Best Practices.
They assessed the facilities provided by the College for the students covering Kaushal Kendra, Community College Scheme, extra-curricular activities, Library, Laboratories, Language Lab, Counselling Centre, Anti Sexual Harassment Cell, Anti Ragging Cell, Reading Room, Play Ground, Auditorium, Placement Support, Drinking Water, Ladies Hostel, Multi Gym, Canteen and other basic amenities.
The members interacted with the Heads of the Departments, Students, Alumni and Parents to elicit details about the College.
They were overwhelmed by the cultural programme, depicting tradition and ethnic, presented by the students in the evening.
