Naatya Sabha to host Indian Classical Dance Festival

Mysuru: Naatya Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a programme of classical dances on June 8 (Sunday) at Ganabharathi auditorium in Kuvempunagar, starting at 5.30 pm.

Four artistes will present varied genre of classical dances including Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak. The dancers are Stuti Hegde, Preeti Bannerjee, Poojashree and Mahima Harish.

Stuti Hegde is a disciple of renowned Bharatanatyam Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke and has been under her training from a very young age. She is a highly talented dancer and a multifaceted artiste. She is also training in Hindustani and Karnatak classical music.

Preeti Banerjee is a talented and brilliant Odissi dancer. She is continuing her training under the able guidance of Guru Sharmila Mukherjee. She has performed at various prestigious platforms and festivals including Konark Dance Festival, Odisha; Soorya Festival, Kerala and many more.

Poojashree is a Kathak dancer and pursuing advanced training under the tutelage of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Mysore B. Nagaraj. A dedicated senior student of Articulate Dance Studios, she has performed on over one hundred platforms across India. Poojashree has brought depth and expression to significant roles in choreographic works such as ‘Allama – The Mystique’ and ‘Binda Ke Shyam’ and many more similar productions.

Mahima Harish is a dedicated Bharatanatyam artiste and teacher, trained under Guru Vidushi Roopashree Madhusudhan. She holds Master’s Degree in Performing Arts and is currently pursuing Ph.D. Her performances have graced several renowned platforms across the country, including Sangeet Natak Akademi.
