Mysore/Mysuru: Naatya Sabha, Mysuru, has organised Indian Classical Dance performances at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar on July 16 (Saturday) at 5.30 pm.
The programme features Odissi dance recital by Vidu. Sindhu Kiran and group, Mysuru; and Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Sandhya Udupa from Bengaluru.
Sindhu Kiran is an accomplished artiste of Odissi. She has performed extensively all over India, Europe and South East Asia with innumerable performances at major cultural events. She has established a dance school Rudra – Nrityayogashala in Mysuru.
The dancers along with Sindhu Kiran in Saturday’s performance are her students — Samaa Ved Moola, Tarana Kuttappa, Harsha Vinod, Vinay Narahari and Pruthe Hawaldar.
Sandhya Udupa is a very talented upcoming Bharatanatyam artiste nurtured by Aacharya Indira Kadambi. She has also been additionally trained in Kuchipudi, Yakshagana and Karnatak Classical Music. A graded artiste of Doordarshan, Bengaluru, she also teaches children in her institute ‘Udupa Foundation.’ Sandhya is learning Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Guru Vidushi Vyjayanthi Kashi for the past 7 years. As part of the troupe led by her guru, she has conducted workshops and performed at many festivals.
