Naganahalli Research Station Centenary on Mar. 17

The centenary celebrations of Organic Farming Research Station (formerly known as Agriculture Research Station) at Naganahalli in the taluk will be held on Mar. 17.

The Centre, which is attached to University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, was established in 1917. It functioned under the Department of Agriculture until 1965, when it was handed over to the newly-established University of Agricultural Sciences.

UAS, Bengaluru Vice-Chancellor Dr. H. Shivanna will inaugurate the programme at 10 am on Mar. 17.

The Centre, located in a 65-acre land at Naganahalli, is carrying out extensive research on paddy and other crop varieties.
