Nalwadi awardee Prof. N. Venkoba Rao feted

Mysuru: Rajarshi Nalwadi award winner Prof. N. Venkoba Rao was felicitated at a programme organised under the aegis of V. Sreenivasa Prasad Abhimanigala Balaga at a private hotel here on Friday.

Former Minister and State BJP Vice-President V. Sreenivasa Prasad, speaking on the occasion, said that Prof. Venkoba Rao was a social thinker and humanist. Stating that the felicitation function was indeed a ‘Guruvnadana’ function for him, he said that Prof. Venkoba Rao was both a guide and guru for him since he was a PUC student.

Pointing out that Prof. Venkoba Rao was a great orator, he said that he (Venkoba Rao) was a great inspiration for youth.

Regretting the lack of spirit of Nationalism amongst us, Prasad bemoaned that caste affiliations had become more important that Nationalism.

Littérateur Dr. Malali Vasanthkumar, ‘Maithri’ (School for Specially-abled) President Ravindra Joshi, former MUDA Chairmen K.R. Mohan Kumar and C. Basavegowda, BJP leader V.
