Name mix-up causes commotion

March 27, 2025

Mysuru:  A mix-up in the names of gold medal and degree certificate awardees caused a commotion on stage during the KSOU convocation ceremony this morning.

The lapse was first noticed by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who compared the list in his hand with the one being read aloud by the programme host.

Spotting the discrepancies, the visibly displeased Governor rose from his seat and directed Vice-Chancellor Prof.Sharanappa V. Halse to instruct the host to adhere strictly to the official list.

As the Governor personally intervened, confusion prevailed on stage, leaving KSOU authorities momentarily clueless about how to restore order. Eventually, the Governor himself advised the announcers to follow the correct list and avoid further confusion.

The incident led to some embarrassing moments for the Vice-Chancellor, as the mix-up disrupted the otherwise formal proceedings.
