Nanjangud Temple records Hundi collection of nearly Rs. 1 crore

The famed Srikanteshwara Temple in the town has recorded a Hundi collection of Rs. 96.17 lakh cash in a period of forty five days (Sept.25 to Nov.7, 2019). The counting of all the Hundis in the temple complex was taken up on Thursday, during which 34 grams of gold jewellery,1.8 kg of Silver articles and eight foreign currency notes were found,apart from the cash. More than hundred personnel, including those from the temple, Canara Bank and women self-help groups took part in the counting process. Temple Executive Officer (EO)Ravindra, AEO Gangaiah and other officials were present.
