‘Nanna Desha Nanna Hemme’ campaign launched

Mysuru: “Mysuru is ideal for tourism which should be developed to draw tourists from all over the world,” opined Mysore Airport Director R. Manjunath.

He was speaking after launching a Pravasi Abhiyan Nanna Desha Nanna Hemme organised by Brahmakumari Eshwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at a function held at Jnana Prakasha Bhavan in Yadavagiri here on Saturday.

Manjunath said that the culture of Sikkim is unique where people worship mountains and tourists are introduced to that culture. He contended that Mysuru has earned name in cultural and spiritual sector which should be made aware to tourists. 

Speaking on the occasion, Tourism Department Regional Manager U.B. Uday Kumar opined that an introspection of facilities available in Mysuru should be done before claiming that the city has everything for tourism. He claimed that indiscipline was responsible for many inadequacies. He observed that tourists usually focus on visiting Mysore Palace and KRS which should be developed to meet the expectations of tourists. He pointed out that Government employees cannot act and function independently and hence sought the co-operation of employees of all Departments and public to uphold tourism at desired level. He opined that every tourist place should have good road to access, ample drinking water and clean toilets. He added that tourists should have access to taste Mysore Pak, Mysore Rasabale and other popular dishes of city.

Brahmakumaris Mysuru Zone Head B.K. Lakshmiji, Aviation and Tourism National Convenor B.K. Kamaleshji, Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayana Gowda, Mysore Travel Association President H. Shivalingaiah and others were present.
