The Union Government has come out with a scheme to present National Awards to children in the age group of 5 to 18 years who have excelled in the fields of art, education, sports and cultural sector. Children born after Aug.1, 1999, would be considered for the awards for 2017. The award carries a gold medal, cash prize of Rs. 20,000, book vouchers worth Rs. 10,000 and a citation.
For every State and Union Territory there will be an award with a silver medal, cash prize of Rs. 10,000, book vouchers worth Rs. 3,000 and a citation.
The prescribed application form in triplicate with two photos should be submitted before May 30 to the office of Deputy Director, Dept. of Women and Child Welfare, High Tension Line Road, Vijayanagar, 2nd Stage, Mysuru – 570017.
