Mysuru: Basudev Somani College, Kuvempunagar, Mysuru, has organised a one-day National Conference on ‘Infrastructure and Sustainable Development: Issues and Challenges’ in the College auditorium on Jan.19. The conference will be inaugurated at 10 am by D. Bharathi, Registrar, University of Mysore (UoM), Mysuru. Dr. K. Maran, Professor & Director, Sri Sai Ram Institute of Management Studies, SIMS, Chennai, will deliver the keynote address. Prof. G. Kotreshwar, DoS in Commerce, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, will be the chief guest. H.N. Nagaraj, Chairman and Managing Trustee and Dr. M. Puttaswamy, Managing Trustee, The Institute of Education Trust, Mysuru, will be the guests of honour.
An edited book on ‘Infrastructure and Sustainable Development: Issues and Challenges’ will be released during the inaugural session.
The brain-storming takes place through four technical sessions which apparently focus on infrastructure with micro related issues. A plenary session comprised of four experts, academia and researchers throws light up on the imperative need of the Infrastructure for the Sustainable Development. The session also gives a glimpse of Infrastructure in developed countries.
The Conference will conclude with valedictory session. Prof. H. Rajashekar, Coordinator-KSET & EMRC, DoS in Commerce, UoM, will deliver the valedictory address. Dr. M. Mahadevaiah, Conference Director and Principal, presides over both inaugural and valedictory sessions.
