Mysuru: Canine Club of Mysore, affiliated to the Kennel Club of India (KCI), is organising a National-level Dog Show Competition on Jan. 13 from 9.30 am onwards at the Scouts and Guides Ground behind DC office in city.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, Canine Club of Mysore President B.P. Manjunath said that Ranjith Manjil from Delhi and Martin from Goa would be the judges.
He said more than 300 exotic breeds, from Miniature Pinscher weighing about 3 kg to more than 100 kg weighing St. Bernard, Great Dane and other breeds such as Takita of Germany, Newfoundland dog of France, Tibetan Mastiff, Rottweiler, Nepolean Mastiff, German Shepherd, Labrador, Golden Retriever, Doberman, Pug, Lhasa Apso and English Mastiff dogs will take part in the dog show. Desi breeds such as Mudhol, Rajapalyam, Chippipari, Pashmi, Kanni etc. will also be taking part. There is no entry fee for desi dog breeds.
Trophies will be given to the winning dog in ‘Group Winner’ and ‘Best in Show’ categories. Prize will also be given to Junior Handler (below 14 years).
Celebrity dog breeder from Bengaluru Satish Cadaboms will be displaying his dogs such as Korean Dosa Mastiff, Alaskan Malamute and Lion Head Tibetan Mastiff between 11 am and 12 noon on that day.
