Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), Mysuru, had organised a National-level One Week Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Contemporary Scenario in Power Systems” from July 25 to 30 to encourage Researchers and Academicians.
The Resource persons were eminent Academicians, Researchers and Industry experts of prestigious organisations from India and USA. The objective of FDP was to discuss the concurrent issues on Electric Power System operation.
Dr. L. Basavaraj, Principal, ATMECE presided and said that COVID-19 pandemic has created a very good opportunity for Researchers and Academicians to interact with the Resource persons directly through virtual online platform. Dr. L. Parthasarathy, Organising Committee Chairman, Professor and Head, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, welcomed and said ATME College believes in imparting holistic education considering student community as the focal point of learning process.

Performance of External insulation in Power transmission system and usage of polymeric insulator, Volt/Var Control in Distribution Systems using DERs and Role of T&D Interactions in Long-Term Voltage Stability under High Proliferation of DER, Smart Grid Operations and Control, Power System Earthing, Automated Metering Infrastructure etc were some of the key topics delivered during the week-long event.
The FDP received an overwhelming response from participants across the PAN India and there were exchange of ideas on the issues concerning the present power system operation. In the valedictory session, FDP report was presented by Dr. L. Parthasarathy.
