National-level Kabaddi Tournament: City’s Manchamma makes the cut

Mysuru: A young girl from Mysuru has made it to the National-level kabaddi tournament to be held at Chikkamagalur during November this year. 

Twelve-year-old Manchamma, a student of Government School in Kyathamaranahalli, took to various sports including kabaddi, gymnastics, athletics, wrestling and dance when she was in 4th std. She has won many medals and accolades in various sports activities over the past few years. Now, a student of 7th std, Manchamma is supported by her parents Jayaram and Bhagyamma, School Head Master Ramaswamy and her coach Ilyas. 

Previously, Manchamma has won gold in National-level gymnastics competition held at Tripura on Dec. 16, 2018 and silver in Dharwad; gold in kabaddi held in Delhi in 2018, gold in kabaddi tournament held in Tamil Nadu during August 2018, bronze in a kabaddi tournament held in Haveri during 2018. This part, she has also won silver medal in 200 mts sprint at Chamundi Vihar and gold medal in the National-level kabaddi tournament held at Haryana early this year.
