National-level letter writing competition by India Post

Mysuru: The Department of Posts is conducting a National-level letter writing competition on the topic “Letter to my Motherland.” Letters can be written in English, Kannada and Hindi. The competition will be held in two categories — up to 18 years and above 18 years.

The competition ‘Dhai Akshar’ started on June 15 and the last date for posting letters will be Sept.30. Letters posted after Sept.30 will not be accepted.

The letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper with a word limit of not more than 1,000 words under envelope category, or in an Inland Letter Card (ILC) with a word limit of not more than 500 words for ILC category. Only handwritten letters will be accepted.  The letters can be addressed to Chief Postmaster General of the respective Circles with the competition title mentioned in the address bar.

A scanned copy of the letter can be submitted on https://www.indiapost.gov.in portal latest by Sept.30.

Prizes will be given to winners in each Postal Circle and the winner will get Rs.25,000, second prize Rs.10,000 and third prize of Rs. 5,000.

At the National level, the first prize will be Rs.50,000, Rs.25,000 will be the second prize and Rs.10,000 will be the third prize. For more details, visit https://www.indiapost.gov.in
