National meet on ‘Digital trends and technologies in Commerce and Management’ held

Mysore/Mysuru: A one-day National-level meet on ‘Digital trends and technologies in Commerce and Management: Issues and Challenges,’ organised by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College (VVFGC), PG Centre, Mysuru, in asso-ciation with University Industry Interaction Centre (UIIC) was held at P.M. Chikkaboraiah Hall in the College premises recently.

Speaking after inaugurating the Conference, University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar said that the existing technology can present opportunities and flexibility for business processes through structural characteristics like language, platform and design.

Stressing on the fact that a person must access, compare and make decisions prior to using any digital trends, the VC explained about cloud computing and ways to set up a virtual office to give flexibility of connecting every business anywhere and anytime.

“Career Hub introduced by UoM is exclusively to benefit the students to build their dream careers,” he added.

Data Science & AI NASSCOM Programme Director Madhav Bissa, in his keynote address, spoke on topics like digital trends by differentiating digitisation, digitalisation and digital transformation.

He further said how India was taking initiatives on digital innovations to accelerate ‘Digital Transformation’ and how these innovations gave necessary foundation to digitally transform industries faster, smarter and cheaper. Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) Hon. President Gundappa Gowda  in his presidential address spoke about  the inception of the institution and advantages of technologies in our daily life along with the technological developments and advancements of such technologies over the last few decades. Vidyavardhaka Sangha Hon. Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer Shrishaila Ramanna-var, Managing Committee Chairman T. Nagaraju, UIIC-UoM Director Prof. B. Mahadevappa, research scholars and students were present.
